A BRIEF LIFE STORY

Osman Celik was born in Feb. 1966 at Mahiraga Village of Cilimli town, in Duzce which is a small city on the northwest of Turkey.  

His grandfather (Mahir Aga) and grandmother (Ayşe Hatun) were Georgia Batumi immigrants who came to Duzce in 1910s. He was brought up by his parents who formerly were small farmers. Then his father, Huseyin Remzi Celik started to work for D.B. Marine Transport Co. as sailor in 1969 and mother, Elmas Celik was a house wife. When they moved to Istanbul, he was about 2 years of age.

He received primary and secondary school education at Baglarbasi and attended Cumhuriyet High School where he was strongly adviced to be an author in the future by Turkish Literature teacher, Mukaddes Tunali, as he was very successfull in composition and poem. His first evolution work was a short story book, A Bird Far From Homeland which was written for his father in age of 15.

He studied at Yildiz Technical University from 1982 until 1988. He received his B.S. in Feb 1988 at Mechanical Engineering Dept. 

Then he went to England by a cargo ship, M/V Kula in which he was working as engineering trainee. This journey took 1 month to Sousse, Tunisia then Felixtowe, Enlgand. He left the ship and went to Liverpool and lived there for 9 months with muslim students from Arabic countries. He attended English as a foreign language course of Millbrook College (now its name is Liverpool Community College).

He turned back to Turkey by Mithatpasa cargo ship in the end of March 1889 and joined to army. He has finished his compulsory military service in Isparta and Menemen, as short period corporal.

He was twenty-five years old when he married in 1990. They had 3 children. Maryam Nurbanu 1991, Aisha Halenur 1992, Yusuf Talha 1996. This marriage ended in June 2002.

He got married again in Oct. 2009 in Khenchela with Sana Lahmime, Algerian accountant, works for goverment employee office and had a baby in Aug. 2010 called Sirac Munir.

He spent the years from 1992 to Aug. 1999 in Tuzla plant of Arcelik, one of the the biggest home appliances factory in the Europe and from Sept. 1999 to today he has been working for Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (I.M.M) at different corporations and divisions of this goverment company.

He lives in Istanbul at Beykoz, a town at Anatolian side of Bosphorus. His village Cavusbasi, is one of the most green places of Istanbul with small hills, countless trees and a dam lake Elmali. 

He has built a three flatted house, Villa Elmas in the center of a green garden and growth fruit trees.

He likes travelling, gardening and computer related works.
